How do you want to be remembered? It’s an interesting question to think about. In today’s tip, I explore the meaning and thoughts for you to consider will communicating with others…
Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to the Mars Venus Tip of the Day.
I’ve been looking on the internet and trying to find management and leadership tips and I found one that I want to share with you.
Clare Boothe once told President Kennedy that a great man is one sentence.
It may be impossible sum your accomplishments in a handful of words,
but it makes good exercise in self reflection. Ask yourself “what do you want to be remembered for?”
Wether you left an organization or came in, changed your job, or whatever you’re doing, the exercise can really guide your decisions and how you interact in your relationshipships.
After I read that. I started thinking about it. If I thought to myself – how do I want to be remembered – and I know that there are a lot of people who will look at it in terms of “What do you want to put on your gravestone” or things like that but it’ll really help you understand what’s important to you.
For example, you’re sitting in front of a client, you’re in front of a customer, you’re talking to an employee, your with your spouse or your with the child and while you’re having that discussion – ask yourself “what do i want to be remembered for?”
I think it’ll change the discussion your having. I think it will change the relationship and how your dealing with that person.
Think about that the next time you have a discussion with anybody in your life. How do you want to be remembered for while you’re having that discussion – see if that makes a change for you.
I hope your having a great day and I see you next time. That’s Mars Venus Coaching tips.
Until next time,
