Good morning Mars Venus Coaches. Today I wanted to talk about self-confidence or self-esteem.
I’ve noticed with a lot of my client’s that their biggest issue, the one thing that underlies everything that we’re talking about, is this common thread called self-confidence or self-esteem.
How do you help somebody that has self-confidence issues or if they just don’t feel confident?
What I’ve noticed, those people that have confidence issues slouch their shoulders, their head are not up, and their chest is not out.
First, I try to get them to walk confidently right in front of me. I say stand up confidently. First put your shoulders back, chest down, your chin up, and feel confidence. The actual feeling of their body in the correct position. Get that feeling of their body before their head thinks it.
If I get them to do that and get that feeling, then I can get them to continually do it. If I can get their body doing it then their mind will start to believe it too.
Think about doing that exercise with your clients (or maybe do yourself) and see if that works.
